join us in worship

We are the Church You Are Looking For!

No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey; you are welcome at United Church. Join us for worship this or any Sunday at 10am or at 12:30pm in our Historic Meeting House on the New Haven Green at 270 Temple St. at the corner with Elm Street. It's the best way to find out what our congregation is all about. It's an hour and fifteen minutes on a Sunday mornings. What do you have to lose? You have so much to gain!

  • Enjoy a Celebration of Life
  • Experience a Christian Community of Fellowship
  • Make New Friends
  • Participate in Children & Youth Ministries
  • Discover Opportunities for Involvement

Stay For Coffee Hour

This is very important. How else can you get to know the people you're sharing the pews with? We know it's daunting to look down the stairs and not know quite what lies beneath, or what your escape route might be, but come down and see. Go for it!

St. Francis is thought to have said, "Preach the Gospel always. Use words when necessary." At United Church, we believe that when words are necessary, it's important to find just the right words to help us lay our lives alongside the Gospel so we can see where we need to do more to "comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable," like Jesus did. And sometimes those right words can be surprising--surprising, insightful, moving, a bit scary sometimes, even funny. We believe "God is still speaking" to the world. Watch our weekly sermon podcast and see if you agree.
