Support our missions & programs

At United Church, we believe in giving not because we must, but because we may. Those whom we serve tell us every day what our support means to them.

  • By giving to the work of the church, you can create positive outcomes for a great many people, from Twelve Step groups to Soup Kitchens to the homeless, to our Nursery School which provides tuition subsidies to all the families served.
  • We also provide essential services that benefit hundreds for whom the Church may be their last or only resort.
  • We support the change you wish to see in the world--more justice, more peace, more compassion.
  • Your support helps spread the word that another way, and another world, are possible.
  • There are lots of ways to leverage your generosity through the work and programs of United Church on the Green.

The easiest way to support our work is to set up an Annual Giving Plan then create your own On-Line Giving Account If you prefer to make your gifts one at a time, that's fine too. You can also chose to support our special programs and projects. Just click on any of the selections below to make your gifts. And while you're at it, why not create a "set it and forget it" monthly direct debit annual gift from your bank or credit card account. You will feel good and you will be doing good!

Thanks so much for your generosity and support!

Shine the Light campaign

As we approach the Winter Solstice, a time of darkness, our Board of Stewards has begun a special campaign called “Shine the Light” which seeks to fund much needed replacement storm windows for the north and west sides of our historic Meeting House. Stewardship is all about protecting our buildings from the ravages of New England’s notorious, seasonal weather. As good stewards, we recently we added insulation and LED lighting to our iconic Meeting House.

We are now needing to replace 22 storm windows on the North and West sides of the Meeting House and make any necessary repairs which are needed to the prime windows that they protect. These custom-made storm windows are huge and with installation will cost about $3,200 each. One generous family in our congregation has already offered to fund one window! Funding a window is a great way to help safeguard our Meeting House for future generations; however any donation to this project will be very much appreciated. Our goal is to secure the funding we need by Lent.

Built in 1815, our Meeting House is a very special building. In addition to our worship services and activities, it  used by local social and human service organizations that serve a great many people. We host public events such as: musical performances, movies, public lectures & forums, award and graduation ceremonies and many self-help programs.

Our Board of Stewards is asking members of our Congregation and others who have benefited from our outreach programs to help fund the ”Shine the Light” campaign. If have questions about this important project, please contact Pastor Bonnie Scott. for more information. Your tax-deductible gift can be made in confidence if you so desire.
