ANNUAL MEETING - JUNE 12th, 2022
The Annual Meeting will occur on June 12, 2022 following the Sunday worship service.
Please send a brief synopsis of your Committee/ Task Force Work and Accomplishments to the front office (email@example.com) in Word Format no later than Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, so that there is ample time for editing and printing.
The meeting will be held in the Sanctuary, due to ongoing construction work in the Bradley Room. Please direct any questions to Al Forino, Moderator.
To the Parents of Young Children, Welcome!
Relax! God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. All are welcome!
You might want to sit toward the front where it is easier for your little ones to see and hear what’s going on at the altar. They tire of seeing the backs of other’s heads.
Quietly explain the parts of the Worship Service and actions of the Pastor, Deacons, Stewards, Choir etc. Sing the hymns, pray and voice the responses. Children learn liturgical behavior by copying you.
If you have to leave Worship Service with your child temporarily, feel free to do so.
Remember that the way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to the church, to God, and to one another. Let them know that they are at home in this house of worship. As Jesus said “Let the children come to me.” We value them all.
TO OTHER MEMBERS OF OUR PARISH
The presence of children is a gift to the church and they are a reminder that our Congregation is growing. Children are our future. Please welcome our children and give a smile of encouragement to their parents.
Sharing our Gifts for a New Beginning
We have received many pledges from many in our congregation. Thanks to those who are supporting our Church. We celebrate especially the two households who have pledged for the first time this year and the thirteen households who have increased their pledges over last year. We are so grateful to everyone who has pledged so far. We are still hoping for 100% participation. Whether you can give a little or a lot, your gift matters tremendously, because it is an expression of solidarity and support for our congregation and for the ministries we undertake together. If you haven't yet had a chance to make your commitment to support United's year of new beginning, please do so at www.unitednewhaven.org/donate. Thank you!
We will meet again at 10:0AM on Zoom:
- March 24, April 7, April 21, May 5, May 19, June 2, June 16, and June 30
If you need a chat-fix, just phone or email me or any other crafter. As you know, there is always tea for coffee to be sipped and stories to share. Please email Jean Blue firstname.lastname@example.org for a link to join our Zoom conversation.
UCG Book Club
UCG Book Club is back with Searching for Sunday by the late Rachel Held Evans. Come to the Parish House after church on May 1st and May 15th, (11:30-12:30) leaving from Coffee Hour, and talk about your thoughts on the book and faith. Look for Miranda Bailey-Russomano and Jon Blue!
