All loving, committed couples who wish to celebrate a religious wedding in the Christian tradition and meet the requirements for legal marriage in the State of Connecticut are invited to host their union at UCG. We perform weddings for members and non-members. We perform weddings for same-sex couples; and we perform marriages for persons of differing religious backgrounds. When you ask to be joined in marriage at United Church, our Pastor will meet with you for an initial informational session. The pastor will work with you during the counseling sessions to plan your service to best suit your personal style, needs and wishes.
Our historic (circa 1815) Meeting House and our (circa 1961) Parish House are both located in downtown New Haven, one on the New Haven Green and the other a block away within the Yale neighborhood. Part of our mission is to make our facilities available to community organizations and groups whose programs and objectives are compatible with the values and principles of our congregation. Our church has been an active force for social justice and human rights throughout its long history. Rental Fees start at $30/hour based on the space and equipment needed. We are an open and affirming church that actively supports LGBTQ issues. Our facilities host weddings, funerals, musical performances, lectures and forums and private group meetings. Rental rates are based on type of activity, duration of the event and which of our varied spaces is used.
We offer high-quality video and audio services to any event. Our system includes 3 30X PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras installed throughout the Main Hall, a PowerView switch board to operate the cameras, an Epiphany Pearl Nano (recording/streaming device), and separate audio control in the Main Hall and on the Live-stream/recording. There is also capability to add image overlay to videos if desired.
Information on Rental of A/V Equipment
§ The equipment owned by UCG may not be operated by an outside technician. An outside technician may join in working with one of our technicians if desired.
§ If you would like to operate your own A/V for an event, you must bring your own equipment (not including microphones) and technician.
§ A/V services are charged a flat rate of $125, plus an additional $25 for each hour a technician is needed on-site. The flat rate includes access to all the equipment (audio boards, cameras, livestreaming services), pre-event consultation with our Digital Media Administrator, Lizzy Stant, livestream link to provide to your livestream viewers, and a recording sent after the event via Google Drive.
§ If you event extends beyond the time you have asked for a technician to be on-site as indicated above, you will be charged an extra fee of 50% of the total A/V services fee.
